Browse the Picture Light Selection Offered by Our Art Lighting Experts
We pride ourselves on our innovative and modern technologies that bring you closer to your artwork. By combining specialty optic systems, we create unique solutions for a multitude of artwork sizes and lighting needs. We offer designs for plug-in lights, as well as quality wireless picture lighting for those situations where there is no outlet nearby. Our high-performance lighting fixtures are made by our team in Sarasota, FL, USA who are committed to making your artwork shine.
Picture Lights Aren’t One Size Fits All
Picture lighting used to consist only of unwieldy, obtrusive designs to accommodate the large bulbs within. LEDs changed the landscape of lighting; however, adapting that old fixture to new technology leaves you with the same bulky, legacy design that may not work well for your artwork. Instead, we’ve designed our fixtures from the inside out. Our picture lights are designed in parallel with modern optical designs so we can shape and control light for further reach vertically and better control laterally, while still creating the smallest form factors available. We also engineer lighting systems that suit different sizes of artwork, including those greater than 35 - 40 inches in height. You’re in control with our variety of cutting-edge optics, featuring an array of both plug-in or hardwire options and rechargeable wireless lights to expand your ability to illuminate your artwork.
Placement of Your Picture Lighting
Our mounting system features low-profile mounting brackets to allow for easy attachment to the back of your artwork or the wall behind it. This flexibility is offered with both our wireless Rechargeable Touch Series as well as all of our remote controlled plug-in systems. This discreet mounting also provides the ability to mount your fixture to the bottom of your artwork – helpful for when the top of your painting is out of reach with a wireless system, or should you have the desire to uplight the piece. We’ve also designed a unique wireless art light that requires no mounting whatsoever, and simply rests atop your artwork.
High Quality Picture Light Finishes
When we sell a brass art light, we mean it. In other words, our brass picture lights are made of actual brass, not a brass “finish” or “gold” paint. You won’t see painted finishes from us and it’s the same reason we don’t use nebulous terms like “designer” or “museum” grade to describe our products. Our remaining finishes utilize anodized aluminum to achieve their high-quality finish. We offer numerous options to best complement your personal preferences and the décor of your room – whether you want your lighting to be eye-catching, or if you’d rather your fixture blend into the frame of the artwork.
Choosing the Best Picture Light Fixtures
While there are numerous options available in picture lighting fixtures, choosing the best light for your artwork will be dependent on many factors, including (but not limited to) the size and style of your artwork, the desired lighting effect, and the available power source. Our website features a selector tool to assist you in making a selection based on the dimensions of the artwork only, however, our team is happy to provide further insight and recommendations that better consider the nuances of lighting your specific artwork. For example, large and wide artwork or unframed landscapes tend to benefit from bar style display lights like the Plug-in Vision Series and Rechargeable Touch Series as the LEDs are integrated throughout the width of the fixture and will provide full coverage through the artwork. Conversely, our Plug-in Micro Series and Rechargeable Micro Series work well on portrait oriented paintings and small to medium works due to the light shining from a central point. We offer options in plug-in, hardwire, and wireless rechargeable LED lights to best meet your needs and available power source.
Where to Use Our Picture Lights
Our picture lights are versatile in design, fitting into numerous settings with ease. Whether installing in a residential, professional, or commercial settings, each fixture offers a minimal profile relative to available coverage area. This will allow for a sleek, discreet installation that will allow your artwork to take focus. The installation process is simple regardless of which system is selected. The manuals are easy enough to follow that nearly anyone with the right tools can achieve a beautiful lighting presentation. For those installing multiple fixtures in a commercial setting, quick installation is a significant advantage. With their elegant design and user-friendly setup, our lights seamlessly blend functionality and aesthetics, making them an ideal choice for any space. Our lights have even been used in more unique settings such as optometrist’s offices.
Energy Efficient and Long Lasting
Every picture light in our catalog contains the best LEDs available and are conservatively rated for up to 70,000 hours of use, equivalent to 35 years of illuminating your wall art at 5 hours a day. Even at this point of “failure”, LEDs “fail” by gradually losing intensity as opposed to the instantaneous burnout of incandescent and halogen bulbs. At the 70,000-hour mark, our LEDs are expected to have a 20% reduction in overall brightness, which is near impossible to perceive at the gradual speed of decline. Due to this, you’ll never have to worry about the hassle or expense of changing light bulbs. Our fixtures are also all low voltage with adjustable brightness, minimizing the overall power consumption of the fixture.
How to Manage Glare and Reflection
When illuminating wall-mounted artwork that is displayed under glass, reflection from an art light (also known as glare) can be of concern. Raising the lighting fixture as high as possible relative to the artwork. Nearly all of our fixtures allow for vertical height adjustment for this reason. Artwork that is displayed in a larger frame will also be less likely to produce visible glare. You can read more about glare and how to best mitigate it further in the following article: Click here
